Gordon conference on “Membrane Transport proteins”

Bruno attended and contributed to the last Gordon conference on Membrane Transport Proteins. It was organized in the mountains of Switzerland (Les Diablerets). A great opportunity to meet colleagues like Wolf Frommer, Bruno Gasnier,  Reihnard Kramer, and many others.

Elisa Llinares thesis defense

On May 24th, Elisa Llinares successfully defended her PhD entitled “Function, regulation and intracellular trafficking of the vacuolar yeast PQ-loop (Ypq) proteins”.  Among the jury members was Pierre Morsomme (UCL university). Thanks a lot to Elisa for her contribution to this new research topic of the lab, and good luck in everything.

“Levures, modèles et outils” meeting

Bruno and Myriam attended the 10th “Levures, modèles et outils” meeting, organized in Toulouse. Talks and posters covered many aspects of yeast genetics and biology of both basic and applied science. A great meeting indeed, in a very nice town.

Ahmad Merhi PhD thesis defense

Last September 30, Ahmad MERHI successfully defended his PhD work entitled “Signals and mechanisms controlling the ubiquitylation and down-regulation of the yeast general amino acid permease”. All lab members then went to a very nice Labenese restaurant in Brussels. Ahmad will stay one more year in the lab to finalize different research projects.

“Dynamic endosomes” meeting

Last September 24-29, Bruno attended the EMBO conference “Dynamic endosomes: mechanisms controlling endocytosis” in Chania, Greece (Creta).

“Yeast Cell Biology” meeting

Last August 16-20, Bruno And Myriam attended the “Yeast Cell Biology” meeting organized by the Cold Spring Harbor Lab (near New-York, USA), where Bruno presented a talk about the Bul adaptors of the Rsp5 ubiquitin ligase and their role in Gap1 permease ubiquitylation.
